The world's oldest fixed-wing Flying Squadron, II (Army Cooperation) Squadron, was formed in Farnborough on 13th May 1912 as one of the original Squadrons of the RFC, and as such, is celebrating its 102nd birthday during its current tour of duty.

In honour of reaching this unprecedented age the personnel II(AC) Squadron intend to complete 102,000km by means of Running, Cycling, Rowing and Cross Trainer equipment.

This challenge will be carried out during the Squadron's deployment to Afghanistan on Operation Herrick in aid of the Royal Air Force Association and Swaffham & Litcham Home Hospice.
